Of course with the issues the two countries had with each other in the 80's and 90's, I doubt the answer will be easy to get. The name change probably occurred since Makai is no longer a playable character. Choose from eight playable characters, each other their own special moves. Denjin Makai Guardians: Denjin Makai II Though the title screen indicates the name Guardians, various logos in the game feature the subtitle Denjin Makai II. That being said, nope, no way to definitely claim the one in this thread is legit outside Banpresto (or Irem in the M92 case) coming out and admitting it. Guardians / Denjin Makai II is a retro side-scrolling arcade game. I'm NO expert though, and these opinions are just that, mine and mine alone. Well, it actually does not have enough plot, but there are several things I like in this game.
The chips themselves seem to have been harder to bootleg back in the day though. This time I am playing Guardians (aka Denjin Makai 2), which was made in 1995.

There are a few mainstays, but no Andores or Wrench Ts to cyclically bring you back to its reality, no names at all in fact. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Xbox Series X. I've seen bad bootlegs that have a legit company name on them. Guardians/Denjin Makai II is a mishmash of different playbooks, a selfish, relentless amalgamation of craziness and curiosity that explores every conceivable type of content a beat ‘em up could. Silk-screening on a PCB is easy to do though, so I wouldn't say just b/c a board has a company silkscreened on it, it's more legit. That being said, there are ALSO Korean made boards that are lower quality, don't share the same chips, have worse sound (and sometimes graphics), and usually don't seem to have a notch in the JAMMA edge. New Jersey, I now have PCBs to Battle Circuit, Guardians/Denjin Makai II. The same for those Korean M92 boards (same chips, quality PCB etc). Arkanoid 2 RoD Cabinet & Marquee but Tournament Arkanoid is the game hooked. I would say that many of the chips look legit (and have the Japanese makers marks) and the board overall is of higher quality.
